On 11/30/2011, the Arizona Republic reported that more than 70 Arizona law enforcement agencies involving thousands of officers will participate in the Statewide Holiday DUI Enforcement Task Force this year with the goal of preventing drinking and driving during the holiday season. This year’s program called "Drive Hammered ...Get Nailed!" will use $1.1 million of earmarked federal dollars to buy six DUI-processing vehicles. Acting Phoenix Police Chief, Joe Yahner, said that the DUI-processing vehicles make everything move faster: "We can do blood and breath testing right in the vehicle and get our people back on the road."
As long-time Phoenix personal injury lawyers, we support this increased allocation of resources aimed at reducing the number of people driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs and we encourage everyone not to drink and drive, especially during the holiday season.
